Yodeling in harmony; now that takes balls! -- David Olney

These two are ALL THAT- Rabid fan. Cincinnati, Ohio.

Siobhán and Michael occasionally add side-musicians: a slide guitarist, bass, or percussionist. They are currently producing a disc of co-written material. Both also have individual recordings, which do closely reflect their live repertoire and sound together. Based in Northern Virginia, they travel the continental United States throughout the year. They hold valid US passports and Siobhán has a valid EC passport as well. They have performed at many types of venues both together and separately, and are equally comfortable on the big stage and the small, from the intimate performance coffeehouse, colleges to festival stages, and campfire circles.

Siobhán (pronounced shhh-vawn) Quinn is an international touring singer and songwriter well respected for her exceptional vocal abilities. She has sung in many styles including contemporary Irish, English and American folk, art songs & medieval madrigals in five languages, as well as rock & roll and blues. Siobhan has toured for ten years with contemporary folk and blues music partner Ben Murray and released two albums: "Two Rivers" and a limited edition disc "Grande Affaire."

Siobhán has an EP disc with Boneshaker, her UK-based Celtic band. She has taught and/or coached voice at the Swannanoa Gathering, Great American Masters Music Industry Workshop and the Summersongs / Wintersongs songwriting retreats, was a top five finalist in the Boston Folk Festival Songwriting Competition.

Michael Bowers, finalist in the pretigious 2005 Kerrville New Folk competition and 2006 South Florida Folk Finalist, is known as a first-rate songwriter and engaging, talented performer. His first recording "Angel on My Shoulder" was referred to as "folk with an attitude" and his live shows frequently referred to as "urban campfire music." He is known for his twisty intellectual lyrics as well as his cut-to-the-chase songs, in fact Michael's lyrics range from the heartfelt to humorous, always with both feet on the ground, but with eyes toward the horizon. The music he writes shows influences of blues, jazz, country, and the best of the singer-songwriter tradition. He has just released his second full recording, "Reluctant Believer," produced by Tom Prasada-Rao. This year, he is a 2005 Kerrville Folk Finalist.

Press Reviews

The world is filled with technically great singers who lack soul, and heartfelt singers who lack technique, so it's rare to encounter a vocalist whose ability to express emotion matches her jaw-dropping control. Siobhán Quinn is that rare singer, and she excels at blues, folk, rock and whatever other genre she samples, roaring or gliding through songs with elegance and power.

- Best Female Vocalist of the year! Metroland Magazine

Overall best performance at the New York State Fleet Blues Festival. Rock power, blues authenticity, ...tight control.
- Donald Wilcock, editor, King Biscuit Blues Magazine

Tight set, expert delivery, and those pipes, oh yeah. Artist's call, any time.

- John McLaughlin, Digital Folk Life.org

Top Five Finalist in the 2003 Boston Folk Festival Songwriting Competition.

This Kind of Love is about a kind of love you don't give up on. Michael says at one point "she sings and I surrender.." I empathize with this. Gorgeous heartfelt singing and what a beautifully crafted song.

-Folkfan Review, February 2004

Enter Siobhán Quinn. She's an absolutely amazing singer, nothing short of transcendent. By turns her voice reminds me of Bonnie Raitt and Mary Black. It is her contribution that puts this CD over the top and makes it an instant classic. When I first heard it, I thought I had stumbled across a long lost Bonnie Raitt album, but on closer examination, I discovered a rich pastiche of styles and influences, a subtle amalgam of distinct flavors and textures that brought a little something new to the record on each listening. Ben's guitar holds it all together and Siobhán's voice provides the wings to make it fly. I haven't been able to get "Two Rivers" out of my car player in about two weeks.

- Alan Rowoth (alan@folkmusic.org)

Siobhán's voice is indescribable; going from the a capella Irish folk ballad "Oh My Donald" to the sweet clarity of "Here On Earth" to the grinding "Samson and Delilah" pretty much says it all.

- Terry Van Heusen, AMAZON Customer Reviews:Dedicated Follower

"Michael's music is worth hearing and should be heard!"

- Eddie Owen, (former) proprietor of Eddie's Attic, Atlanta, Georgia

"The music is as promised about love and relationship and being human and about transformation. Songs to hear again and again. Selma - Michael heard Jessie Jackson say to take that shame and guilt as a white child growing up in Selma, and do something good with it. In Selma in 1963 there was a population of 29,000 of whom 15,000 were black and fewer than 100 registered black voters. When Michael was 12 they were talking about voting rights. And whites were focused not on what was right, but on their own fears. This is a powerful song!”

- FOLKFAN.COM REVIEWER, Feb 14, 2004

"The 12 songs on this album are virtually all by Bowers…a mature writer with something to say. …These are good songs conveying meaningful messages. Overall, Bowers can be proud of a solid piece of work. …Take a listen.”

- Victor Heyman, Sing Out! Magazine

"Bluesy, jazzy melodies and lyrics as strong as anybody's on the market. I was extremely impressed. I'm counting on my radio friends to snap to it."

- Eddie Russell, Country/Eastern and Outlaw for Peace Radio Shows, Columbus Texas
